Where is the save data stored? I need to reinstalled due to an issue where if I move my mouse too quickly the entire game lags like crazy! But if I move my mouse slowly, it's perfectly fine. I cannot tell if it is due to my polling rate or DPI of my mouse, or something else.
Yeah, sorry about that. I need to recompile with an updated Android SDK, I'd also like to switch it to a single IAP for noAds and full game like our other titles. No date as of right now, I'm somewhat busy with my day job :)
I really enjoy the game, it's brillant, fun and addictive !! It'as a real gem ! Sadly it looks like I can't switch weapon... Despite having a d6 sword & a d8 mace... I still use knuckles. Am I doing something wrong ?
A very fun, clever, and creative game! I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing it, and I'd love to see more games with the central combat system that this one uses :)
A very cool looking game, which is a nice addition to its genre! There is enough diversity to keep one engaged, and even if things get repetitive after a while, the usual length of levels (a couple minutes max) makes me come back during every work break!
Very fun light strategy game. Each turn you are shown 2 to 5 cards and choose which card to use or defeat. Each "dungeon" is a number of cards. The more cards the dungeon has, the harder the dungeon is to beat.
I've been enjoying this game a lot since i got it in the bundle. It all works well and the mechanics are interesting and varied. I think they roll out at a sluggish pace but once they are introduced the play gets more complex. However, I found that the longer challenge levels are an absolute slog. Spent an hour on a 40 floor dungeon and after around 15 or 20 floors it was just unejoyable, an hour plus is simply too long to commit for a game like this. I understand the more varied mechanics really get showcased in the longer dungeons but it simply moves too slowly. If there was an option to put the game into double speed or disable animations/ transform them into simple colored number the play would move quicker. I like this game a ton and would love too see it get better and better
I'm really enjoying this game. It's in the same vein as Dungeon18 (which I personally played to DEATH). It's deconstructed and simple.
One big request/recommendation: let me turn off or speed up animations. The one thing that makes me not want to continue playing is how often I click and nothing happens (because the animation hasn't finished).
Our engine is getting updated Linux support and we're planning on doing a Linux build once that happens. You can check out their progress and support them here... http://solar2dtux.com/
I played for a few hours and had a lot of fun. The art is absolutely great, I simply love it. Fresh, delightful and funny ! Love this game.
The game mechanics are simple, and this is a good thing. But I feel like it could be improved. In the first worldmap, I see absolutely no interest in swaping cards. This mechanics becomes slightly intersting with the ranged monsters or some spells, but I feel like it could become a more intersting gameplay than this. How? I don’t know, I have no real suggestion here. I do like the cards swaping, but the fact you can activate a card regardless of its position makes the thing kinda… useless? What do you think?
Also, I tend to forget the card streaks from one floor to another. Having some sort of indication on the HUD, like the one for dice streaks, might be a good idea, no?
It comes into play after you get locked cards and ranged cards, so you are swapping cards behind what you are playing. We almost forced you to swap and click the player to play, but in the end the click to play was a decent shortcut for 90% of the game :)
Dont start this if you have anything to do in the next 2 hours. This is seriously addictive. It is basically an abstracted light RPG dungeon crawler in which you choose 1 action every round by clicking on a single card, which in turn decides if you pick up/use an item that might affect you or the enemies or attack with your current stats. It is relatively easy so everyone can play it, but despite looking seemingly simple, it offers just enough possibility for strategic uses of cards to optimize your chances and rewards that really trigger that "Just one more turn" syndrome. The graphics are delightful and I love the Pen & Paper game master theme. Lovely. 4/5
Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying the game. Playing on Mac and having a blast, though something is very odd with mouse movement on the main screen (the mouse moves jerkily, but moves fine on actual levels).
The art is fun, the dialogue is really amusing, and the difficulty is not too painful. Fun without being frustrating.
The only thing's I think could improve it would be:
(1) When an item/character is locked, some indication of what you need to do to unlock it would be very nice.
(2) The level HUD needs some way to tell you the fireball/freeze/death blow chance, so that you can have some chance of guessing what will happen on an attack.
(3) The dice tracker overlaps the health/armour bar, so that you can't see how much health you have when you have around 10-12 total hearts. You could put the dice higher up, or behind the hearts maybe?
very fun game. I'm also playing on linux using wine, and there's no sound. the game also stutters a lot and crashes sometimes. still very satisfying to play!
For some reason, the game keeps crashing/closing itself after a while of running - enough to run anywhere from one to several dungeons, but it's still pretty annoying. Is there a fix for this?
Hmm... Maybe send us your system setup via our contact form and I'll see if there's anything that pops out. Use this link... https://ponywolf.com/contact
When you die using the french version the sentence isn't translated. It's still written "Buy back your soul? It will cost you one Pop if you have it." In french it would be "Rachetez votre âme? Cela vous coûtera une glace si vous en avez."
I have encountered a bug, when I completed the revive 5 times quest I didn't get a character despite the quest showing a character. I was replaying a tutorial level in case that affects it.
I had exactly the same today. I assumed that it was trying to unlock a specific character, and it was one I already had, but after grinding deaths for an hour, it would have been nice to not get a quest that wouldn't give me something.
It will give you the value of the unlocked character if you get it a different way... It will say "Already Unlocked" and give you coins and pops instead.
As a note, resurrecting 5 times is really hard. I had to down-gear enough to die and need to be resurrected, but not so much that I couldn't complete the level. I think I ran the same level for an hour trying to complete the quest.
Locked cards are noninteractive they just lock down options and you can't do anything about them, I recommend allowing you to drag locked cards to the left so you can rush them but otherwise keep them the same this will add more strategy.
Ranged monsters can get cheesed if their is no lock by repeatedly dragging them to the right, which is just an annoying process not a fun one.
Was playing on Ubuntu using wine, crashes every few levels. google analytics is disabled, its printed message was just a coincidence .
Switched to playing on Ubuntu using proton (steam's modification of wine), game runs great and no crashes. Had to install wmfdist11-64.exe for sound codec and wic_x64_enu.exe for image codec (otherwise black screen with no sound).
So we pulled some unused libraries out with this next 1.2.2 version that should be out sometime today. Might perform a little better under Wine, but who knows :)
Love the art style. The look of this game immediately got my attention. I was absolutely thrilled to see it in the bundle I purchased. Cool mechanics. Definitely ideal for mobile. I use it as a cool down game between more heavier fare (i.e. Torment: Tides of Numenera). Thanks for joining the Social Justice movement. Cheers.
This is the first game I checked out from the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. Really liked the art style, look and feel of the game. Stopped around Level 40 as I figured that I had seen most of the mechanics in the game and it didn't keep me that engaged anymore. I can imagine that it would be great on mobile for those 2 minute play sessions you find during the day :)
I thought this was going to be just another mobile game on itch. It was, but it was a lot better than I expected! Such a unique idea that can go so far with the right amount of work. Definitely following this project.
Hey! Just wanted to say big thanks for participating in the "Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality." This game is simple yet engaging, I'm really enjoying it as a fan of the genre. Is it possible to one day see this on a mobile platform? I would love to play this on the go with a touchscreen. EDIT: Nevermind, I see you've already released on mobile! I'll be sure it pick it up there as well. Thanks again!
This was pretty fun! The art and writing is very enjoyable, and the gameplay is different. It reminds me of Guild of Dungeoneering or Dicey Dungeons. Definitely give this a shot if you enjoy Card game roguelikes! Props to the developers!

Good question? PC or Mac?
I'd check the %AppData% directory on PC and /Library on OSX
I've had this game from a itch.io bundle for a few years now and I'm glad I finally played it! I had a blast!
Hey! Thanks!
Can you provide an Android APK directly to itch that doesn’t require Google Play Services? I specifically buy games from itch.io to avoid that.
Sadly it’s gone from Play Store too now, so no way to play on Android
Yeah, sorry about that. I need to recompile with an updated Android SDK, I'd also like to switch it to a single IAP for noAds and full game like our other titles. No date as of right now, I'm somewhat busy with my day job :)
I look forward to it Id love to buy the full version!

Just tap on the dice to swap weapons
Damn ! So simple. Thanks for your answer.
Yeah, there's a tutorial part that covers it, but sometimes you can blow past it :)
A very fun, clever, and creative game! I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing it, and I'd love to see more games with the central combat system that this one uses :)
I enjoyed Knights of the Card Table so much I added it to my Hidden Gems Series :)

A like/subscribe would be a huge help to continue these. <3 Enjoy your day!

I got this game in the Racial Justice bundle, and I wanted to transfer my save to another computer. Does anyone know where the game keeps that file?
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ponywolf\KotCT
Thank you!

Is it possible to get a linux build maybe or is this something that you guys can not do?

Thanks for the input. Next update we'll try to get to these.
The Mac just loads stuff weird on that title screen, I've tried to fix it a few times. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
very fun game. I'm also playing on linux using wine, and there's no sound. the game also stutters a lot and crashes sometimes. still very satisfying to play!
Our engine (solar2d.com) is getting Linux support slowly but surely. Once it's complete, I hope to push native Linux builds.
no problem, I look forward to it :)
Loads of fun! Love the easy to handle progression, and multiple tactics to get great results.
Thanks!
For some reason, the game keeps crashing/closing itself after a while of running - enough to run anywhere from one to several dungeons, but it's still pretty annoying. Is there a fix for this?
That's the first I've heard of that. Any error message or anything?
Nope. Time until sudden close-out varies greatly; I had one session where I completed like 10 early-game dungeons before it happened.
Hmm... Maybe send us your system setup via our contact form and I'll see if there's anything that pops out. Use this link... https://ponywolf.com/contact

Thanks so much. We'll get that added in
Fixed and will be available in the 1.2.2 update sometime this weekend!
I have encountered a bug, when I completed the revive 5 times quest I didn't get a character despite the quest showing a character. I was replaying a tutorial level in case that affects it.
Thanks. We'll take a look!

That didn't happen. The quest completed, but there was no message on the completion screen. :)
Found it and should be fixed in the 1.2.2 release. It's the "Bandaider" who is unlocked at level 38 or by Resurrecting 5 times.
As a note, resurrecting 5 times is really hard. I had to down-gear enough to die and need to be resurrected, but not so much that I couldn't complete the level. I think I ran the same level for an hour trying to complete the quest.

Interesting idea. We'll think about it for sure.
Nice game, with great presentation !
Thanks!
Love it!
Thanks!
Using it with Wine on Linux, but the google analytics causes it to crash after the first level. Oddly sounds doesn't work either.
Neat game, my son loves it.
Hmmm... Google analytics shouldn't be running. May be an unused library I can remove... Thanks for the heads up!
Was playing on Ubuntu using wine, crashes every few levels. google analytics is disabled, its printed message was just a coincidence .

Amazing game, a lot of fun.
Our engine is cleaning up its Linux support, so we’ll do a native build at some point.
Really looking forward to it!
So we pulled some unused libraries out with this next 1.2.2 version that should be out sometime today. Might perform a little better under Wine, but who knows :)

Caught a typo: "complet_ly"
Dang it. Luckily it’s an easy fix. 😉
Should be fixed in 1.2.2

It is good on mobile :)

Wow guys, engaging mechanics and sweet graphics! Love the vampire cat! :)
Thanks! It was a fun game to make.
I thought this was going to be just another mobile game on itch. It was, but it was a lot better than I expected! Such a unique idea that can go so far with the right amount of work. Definitely following this project.
Thanks!
I would like to report a typo: "Shields give you a chance to complet_ly dodge..." when shields are introduced.
Should be fixed when 1.2.2 comes out later today!
quick bug report: game seems to break if you click your level/profile while in the shop/anvil screen
DOH! We'll get on that. Thanks for reporting...
Fixed in 1.2.1 for Windows, macOS to be posted shortly

Thanks! Yeah, we jumped at the chance to be a part of the bundle. Thanks for supporting a great cause.
This was pretty fun! The art and writing is very enjoyable, and the gameplay is different. It reminds me of Guild of Dungeoneering or Dicey Dungeons. Definitely give this a shot if you enjoy Card game roguelikes! Props to the developers!
Thanks! We will totally share this!
Now includes a STEAM key with your purchase!
Looks cool! Have some Adventure Time vibe in it.
Thanks!
This looks really sweet, will it see Linux support?
It could... I have a few other platforms ahead of that on the list.
No worries, when it does gain Linux support please do reach out to me at GamingOnLinux: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/
Will do!
